Reveille at 07:00. At 13:30 all buses and four of our trucks departed to transport German political prisoners—that is, Belgians, Dutch, Poles, Germans, and others—from Neuengamme to Braunschweig. This was done to make room for Scandinavian internees in Neuengamme. These prisoners were in an utterly miserable condition, starved and mistreated. The column returned around 07:00 the following day.
