From Sachsenhausen

At 10:30, the first transport arrived at Neuengamme, carrying Norwegians and Danes from Sachsenhausen. The Germans ordered that the unloading take place in a yard at the far edge of the camp, where it was impossible to see into the rest of the facility. The camp itself lay approximately 1,500 meters away, hidden behind a massive brick factory building. From this vantage point, one could form no impression of the camp as a whole. The 350 prisoners being unloaded from the buses were in relatively good condition.
