The Danes Arrive

From that day onward, we enjoyed a good collaboration with the Danes, who arrived at Friedrichsruh with their own Red Cross detachment, in which the young Prince George played a prominent role. Initially, the Danes collected and transported their own imprisoned policemen to Neuengamme. After a brief stay in the Nordic camp, the Danes were able to transfer their brave and beloved policemen onward to Denmark and Sweden.
