Digital exhibitionSpeaking Memories

Eva Cohn

Born in July 28, 1929 in Kál, Hungary.

I grew up in a middle-class family with three brothers and three sisters. I was deported to Auschwitz via a ghetto. I was taken from Auschwitz to a factory near Hamburg and from there to a factory placed under ground when Hamburg was bombed. I came with the White Buses to Denmark and from there to Sweden. I met wonderful Hungarian-Jewish and Swedish-Jewish people here, met my husband and got married. I have three children and seven grown-up grandchildren.

Antisemitism has and will not disappear. But fortunately, there is a state for the Jews, Israel, which we did not have during the Holocaust.
