Digital exhibitionSpeaking Memories

Elisabeth Masur born Roth

Born on December 2, 1927 in Sevlus, Tzechoslovakia (today Vynohradiv, Ukraine).

My whole childhood was colored by antisemitism! In 1944 my family, parents, five children, was transported to Auschwitz. I stayed in three different camps. Only I and my brother survived. My sister Edith and I were together but she became ill. I had to leave her behind. I have eternal guilt feelings, it is a wound that never heals.

We must be positive, strong, keep together and believe in a better world.
