Digital exhibitionSpeaking Memories

Eugenia Göndör

Born on July 26, 1931 in Warsaw, Poland. Died February 2, 2024, Stockholm.

I stayed at Warsaw ghetto and was then smuggled out with false identity. At the end of the war I went to a cloister in Kraków in hope to find a place to stay, food and education. I was then smuggled out of the cloister to be in a Jewish orphanage. I was reunited with my mother in Stockholm in 1949.

Don’t hate and don’t look for revenge. It is destructive.
