Livia Fränkel born Szmuk

Born in 1927 in Sighet i Romania (Transylvania). Död 21 maj 2025 i Stockholm.

I was deported to Auschwitz in May 1944, and was liberated, together with my sister, by the British in Bergen-Belsen on April 15, 1945. Surprisingly we survived a year of hell and began a new life in Sweden.  

The purpose of our survival is, I believe, the large family that I succeeded to create, and that there will be a continuity even after I am Gone… This is our victory!
